OTW girls in Orlando

OTW girls find Orlando overrun with giant plush toy people.

(Thanks Jeanie for the photos)

Wetness Test: Before

Left: Four different approaches for how to handle the log flume ride.
-- Bri: Tough it out with bare arms. Embrace the wetness.
-- Paul: Wear your lucky hat, and what could possibly go wrong?
-- Jackie: Count on your hooded OTW jacket.
-- Liz: Put on the Poncho of Protection
Right: Our four scientists about to test their theories.

Wetness Test: After

4s Waiting on Bars

Some wait more relaxed. Others are obviously up next.

Suspicious Smiles

The Level 7 team girls are smiling suspciously because some of them (identities withheld) whispered something to the lady with the microphone. When Alyssa's name was read off for awards, the lady announced to everyone that it was Alyssa's birthday! Sneaky team mates. How embarrassing! :-)

Alyssa's Birthday Surprise

And the parents were no better. At the restaurant, they arranged a cake with candle to be brought out, then all the parents sang Alyssa "Happy Birthday." Does she look embarrassed?

Madison's Big Catch

Every time a UNH gymnast scored a 9.8 or above, Wild E. Cat would throw a UNH t-shirt into the stands. The OTW girls got his attention for one of the tosses. Madison (whose elbow is visible behind Kayla and Allison) made the catch.

Hope's Lap Cat

UNH mascot Wild E. Cat came to visit the OTW team girls in the stands. Here is Wild E. sitting on Hope's lap.

Autograph Hunting

Many of the OTW girls found Alicia Sacramone after the meet, and stood in line for autographs.

Coaching Secrets Revealed!

It's a little-publicized fact that coaches can create a temporary anti-gravity field around a gymnast. The all-seeing MeetCam captured coach Tammy just about to use her anti-gravity powers. It turned out that Jess didn't need the help. She went on to a 1st place finish on Beam at Spring Sectionals #1, all on her own. Good job, Jess!
